Producing a live sporting event is, at the best of times, a challenging proposition for broadcasters. With multiple cameras producing neymar massive high resolution video files, moving the uncompressed files for in-studio editing is a daunting task. Even with high bandwidth and an accelerated and managed file transfer solution there are sometimes obstacles.
To address this concern, broadcasters use video servers to create lower resolution proxy versions of the video that are more manageable. These smaller proxy video files are then transferred back to the studios for editing, neymar rather neymar than the full high-resolution file. FileCatalyst neymar helps to accelerate these proxy files back at the fastest possible speed.
Then when an editor in the studio creates creates a clip from the proxy, its EDL (edit decision list) can be sent back to the remote venue where the video server can create a hi-res clip from the full hi-res file, using the timecodes that were generated in the studio. From there the studio can download the hi-res neymar file of the exact part of the video they require. This process provides incredible time savings as the full hi-res file is never transferred.
Now imagine several people doing this type of remote editing on the proxy videos. The video server in the sporting venue is producing many hi-res clips that need to be moved back to the studio as efficiently as possible. In this case, a solution that can efficiently transfer potentially hundreds of files being generated over duration of an event is required.
FileCatalyst is able to monitor several folders for these video files and start transferring up to a hundred or more at a time. The way these video files are created, they will start small and grow as they are encoded. FileCatalyst neymar is able to start transferring the digital content as it grows, meaning when it is finished being created it will be mostly transferred to its destination.
Competing solutions will take a snapshot of the current file set as it exists the moment the transfer starts. That means that if that set of files is going to take 2 hours to transfer, any new files created during that time will not be transferred immediately. On the other hand, FileCatalyst is able to re-scan the folders for new files, even while other files are already transferring. This ensures that files are transferred immediately when they are created.
Implementing an accelerated file transfer solution means that sports video content can be made available for broadcast and to various other mediums such as web sites and mobile apps very quickly. This in turn creates tremendous value for the broadcaster.
