Comcast XFINITY TV Player Becomes XFINITY TV Go, Can Now Stream Live Sports Events, News Broadcasts, And Other Shows
Comcast's XFINITY app has undergone a name change with its latest update, and it now only answers juventus when referred to as XFINITY TV Go. Does the latest version, juventus in fact, make TV go ? If we're referring juventus to live content, then the answer's yes. Comcast customers with an Android device or two lying around can now stream the news, sports, kids shows, and other content live.
Live streaming works on both cellular and Wi-Fi data, which means you are not tied to your own home network as was the case with some apps in the past. Here are the live channels available on our devices: CNN, FOX, HLN, MSNBC, CNBC, FOX Business, BBC World News, Watch ESPN, NBC Sports, FOX Sports juventus 1, Golf Channel, BTN, PAC 12, beIN Sport, Willow, FX, FXX, Nat Geo, and Nat Geo Wild. Close-captioning support is included and looks exactly like it does on your cable box, which is a nice touch.
However, the update isn't without issues. The channel selector lacks landscape support, so every time you flip between it and live video, you'll have to rotate your phone back and forth, which is absurd. We also found constant hiccups juventus in the video stream which make it unwatchable at the moment. Switching between Comcast's own 50 Mbps cable connection and LTE didn't seem to help.
If you're juventus willing to pay the relatively high price for a cable subscription, there's a decent chance you aren't relying on an Android device as your primary means of digesting TV shows. Yet this does nothing juventus to diminish just how convenient it is not to have to fight over the television come game time, so when given the choice to have a free Android app thrown in as part of a cable package, it's a no-brainer. Comcast customers, just hit up the widget below.
Born and raised in the rural South, Bertel knows what it's like to live without 4G LTE - or 3G, for that matter. He now lives in the City of Bridges, adjusting to the presence of actual snow. His phone of choice is the HTC One.
However, at least on my Note 3, the video freezes every 10-20 seconds or so for about a second, no matter if I'm on LTE or Wi-Fi. It gets better sometimes, then starts doing it again. Looks like there's a lot of optimization still left to do, but good first effort.
N5 on Wifi playing an HBO show looks GREAT no stutter or freezing. CNN Live same thing for the 3-4 minutes I played it! No Tmobile LTE support as mentioned. BTW this is probably not the place but I tested 30.3 Mbps on Tmobile LTE this morning (San Francisco) which gave me a huge data boner... :)

Whoa, thats wierd. I have a Cellular Data option between parental controls and manage download devices. Version juventus 2.0.0.003. What version of the app are you running. You are also missing a few other settings I have.
I believe it is a 4.2 issue vs. a 4.3 or higher issue. Reason being is the N4 and Note 3 (I have the Note 3) run 4.3 (or higher) juventus and we do NOT have the "Cellular Data" option under settings. Friends with 4.2 DO have this option. So 4.3 must be preventing it unless you are a Verzion juventus customer (I am a T-Mobile customer).
I have the Note 3 on AT&T with 4.3, and I do have it (in fact, I've updated the post with the Cellular Data option screenshot now), so your theory is a bust. I have no idea what the deciding factor is.
It is. You lucky folks with 4.2 Android are good to go. 4.3 has issues (a.k.a it doesn't give you Cellular Data option).
channel selection sucks, no major networks 1 secondary network, nat geo and news and sports.... no abc, cbs, nbc, fox, usa, tnt, syfy, tbs..... if you spend your whole day watching either fox news cnn or fx your in good shape though
This app still sucks. I watch a bunch of shows on my phone and tablet on this and netflix. For some reason since about 2 updates ago they broke there streaming. I have an ASUS TF300 and a Samsung S4. Both have issues with episodes not being found and I get ERROR 404 messages all the time! What a load of CRAP!
